Learning

Through the Ages

In this topic, children will travel back in time to when the first humans roamed the earth. We will discover what life was like in the Stone Age, explore how hunter-gatherers survived and investigate monuments that we can still see today. We will then journey on to to he Bronze Age and find out about the Beaker Folk and compare their lives to that of the Stone Age people. Finally, we will come to the Iron Age where we will start to see developments and inventions that have shaped the way we live today.

Science - Animal Nutrition and the Skeletal System

In our science project, children will learn what makes a healthy, balanced diet, and also compare the diets of carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. After that, we will then move on to looking at our skeletons and the importance of the different bones. We will also be investigating joints and muscles and answering scientific questions on their functions and importance. Once we have explored our own skeletons, we will then learn about the different types of skeletons that other animals have to help them survive.

PE Kit

PE kits consists of a white top, dark shorts/skirt, pumps/trainers, dark jumper and dark jogging bottoms, not leggings. Please ensure that your child has a comfortable spare pair of shoes for outdoor PE (as their others may be muddy or wet from being outside). If your child has their ears pierced, please provide tape or ensure they can remove their own earrings. Pupils should come to school wearing their PE kit on PE days.

Our PE Days are Thursday and Friday.

Art - Contrast and Complement

This project teaches children about colour theory and the different types of colours they may use in their own artwork. Children will develop their colour mixing skills, hone their watercolour skills and create their own colourful composition.
